Laurissa Bridgeman

“Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.”

Laurissa has been dancing at Royal Dance at the Forks since the age of three. Over the years, she has trained predominantly in ballet, jazz, lyrical and hip hop and has completed the Royal Academy of Dance’s Graded Ballet Examinations. When it comes to choreography, she loves spooky dances, especially Wade Robson’s dance Ramalama on So You Think You Can Dance. Her favourite holiday is Halloween, because then she can dress up for dance class. Passionate about music, she also loves playing the piano and can sometimes be heard playing at the studio. When it comes to teaching, she believes students should have fun but also be focused, and never be afraid to make mistakes! Students should push themselves to improve while also being supportive of their classmates. Her favourite thing about teaching is seeing the confidence students develop with the help of dance, not just as dancers, but as individuals, as well.
