Miss Kate

“Every day brings a chance for you to draw in a breath, kick off your shoes and dance.” – Oprah Winfrey

Miss Kate has been dancing at Royal Dance since the age of four studying ballet, jazz, lyrical and Hip-Hop. Learning from other amazing instructors at Royal Dance, some of whom are still friends and peers, Kate’s passion for dance did nothing but grow as she got older. She completed all of her graded ballet examinations, assisted instructors through our assistant program, competed for Royal Dance at competitions, and even had the chance to book work as a dancer through her connections at the studio.

Now as an instructor, Kate teaches the competitive Hip-Hop teams and LOVES watching them hit the stage at competition each year (She has been known to cry tears of joy on more than a few occasions). In addition to her work with the competitive Hip Hop teams, Kate also teaches our very own Dancing Dads. Kate loves carrying on this special tradition at Royal Dance and helping our dance families create lasting memories.

Creating choreography that is fun and challenging for her dancers is extremely important to Kate and you can often find her behind the front desk with an iphone pressed to her ear, reviewing and editing choreography until it is JUST right. Watching her students build confidence in their movement and themselves is Kate’s favourite part of teaching dance!

Outside of dance, Kate works in Continuous Improvement/Process Analysis. For hobbies, she loves reading, spending time with her family, baking yummy treats and of course, watching the Bachelor and all its many franchises.
